Handmade Single-String Fretless Bass in Standard E

…created by Scott F. Hall in early 2017 in poplar and oak. The sound you are hearing is this unique bass being played with fingertips near the aluminum bar bridge—the passive pickup is grounded to the bridge with an above-body copper connection as was done on old Fender Jazz basses. The scale length is 31.25 inches and it is fitted with a steel zero fret, a closed chrome tuning gear, and two chrome strap hangers. The side position markers are deeply recessed and painted black for visibility. The back and sides finish is red acrylic with five hand painted paisley tattoos; finally, it was signed, dated, and all surfaces were rubbed with six coats of polymerized tung oil for a high-level shine. There is no truss rod [low tension—it’s not needed] and there are no pots—you have those on your amp and pedals. The guitar cable input is a dongle on the back. The neck and fingerboard run full length through, of course. Recent full albums: https://scottfhall.bandcamp.com/
